Home Support Worker

Greetings!

We are looking for a home support worker for a lady employer who lives in Powell River, BC. She has Primary Progressive (MS) Multiple Sclerosis and is currently in need of a home support worker.

Working Hours: from 10am to 2pm.  4:30pm to 6:30pm and 8pm to 10pm (8 hours a day),

40 hours per week, over time can be accommodated depends on the need of the employer but will not exceed 44 hours total in a week. It is a non-smoking working environment.

Wage: CAD 21.09 per hour

Main Duties

Provide care and companionship for the employer

Administer necessary care and aid in bathing, personal hygiene, dressing and undressing

Meal preparation following employer’s special diet, feed, assist in feeding employer

May perform health-related duties such as administration of medications following doctor’s prescription and order

May perform light housekeeping duties such as dusting, laundry, washing dishes, making beds, and some watering of plants

Must be knowledgeable in using manual lift

Must know how to drive to assist employer for doctor’s appointment

No major health issues

Employment requirements

Some secondary education is required.

Must speak and write English conversely

First Aid Certification is required

Completion of training in care of elderly, care of persons with disabilities is required
